Mehmet Hengirmen is the first founder and the head of Ankara University TOMER Turkish Teaching Centre (which was later called Ankara University TOMER Language Teaching Centre). He wrote the unique series of "Türkçe Öğrenelim" which is accompanied by six main books and thirty-six key books. In addition, he has written books about teaching the Turkish Language. Those books are: Türkçe Dilbilgisi (Turkish Grammar), Türkçe Temel Dilbilgisi (Turkish Basic Grammar), Dilbilgisi ve Dilbilim Terimleri Sözlüğü (Dictionary of Grammatical and Lingiustic Terms), Konuşma Kılavuzları (Guide Books for Speaking) (In twenty languages), Yazım Kılavuzu (Dictionary for Spelling).Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Dilbilgisi (Turkish Grammar for Foreign Students) is a result of thirty years of hard work. This book was published after a trial period of a few years at TOMER. It is the most comprehensive one among the others written in this field. The book comprises the following topics.a) Phoneticsb) Morphologyc) SyntaxThe language used in this book is simple and clear enough for everyone to understand easily. There are a lot of examples and there is a "keep in mind" page at the end of each section which is a brief summary of each topic. The terms are given with their correspondence in English, Turkish, German and French. This is one of the features of the book which makes it unique.In this book which was published at the beginning of the year 2000, all the innovations of the century have been implemented. Three accompanying exercise books are still being prepared.
