Creative Unity

This One in me knows the universe ofthe many.But, in whatever it knows, it knows the One indifferent aspects. it knovvs this room only hecausethis room is One to it, in spite ofthe seemingcontradiction ofthe endless facts contained in thesingle fact ofthe room. îts knowledge of a tree is theknowledge of a unity, which appears in the aspectof a tree.This One in me is creative. its creations are a pastime,through which it gives expression[vi] to an ideal ofunity in its endless show ofvariety. Such are its pictures,poems, music, in which it findsjoy only hecause theyreveal the perfectforms of an inherent unity.
